Welcome to Rabbits Class! We are part of the Early Years Foundation Stage here at Meadowfield School.
We have hit the ground running and have been busy getting to know each other and the class routines. We are a lively class who love being outside exploring and learning. Getting mucky and making a bit of a mess is what we do when we are learning.
In Rabbits class we learn through a combination of planned play and teacher directed sessions. We work to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Development Matters documents which cover seven areas of learning. These are:
Personal, Social and Emotional development (PSED)
Communication and Language (CL)
Physical Development (PD)
Understanding the World (UW)
Expressive Arts & Design (EAD).
This year we will be visiting the seven areas of learning through different topics, we are starting by thinking about ourselves and our families
So that we all have the opportunity to reach our full potential we use a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning in Rabbits. The children develop skills in the seven areas of learning through stories and songs, Write-Dance, ‘messy’ play, small world, role play and lots more – both inside and outside the classroom.
We also have access to a sensory room, soft play room, sensory garden (where we hope to do lots of digging and planting!) as well as the adventure playground to help support physical development.
We will get messy. We will get dirty. But we will be having lots of fun and learning lots along the way!
Please have a look at the gallery to see some examples of the great things we are doing together.
Our open afternoon is on Thursday 1st February.
