Delayed EHCP Paperwork

Dear parents/ carers,

I have had many parents wanting to talk to me about schooling in September; many of whom would like a place at Meadowfield School.

In order to gain a place at a specialist school it is essential to have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place. I am aware that many of you are awaiting a decision from SEN regarding the outcome of the statutory assessment for an EHCP for your child.

I am also aware that many of you are waiting for a visit and report from an Education Psychologist.

I have spoken to SEN regarding this issue and they are aware of the situation. SEN have informed me that a draft EHCP can be drawn up without an Education Psychologist visit report however parents must personally confirm that they are happy for this to happen.

My advice would be to contact your specific SEN case officer to discuss it further if it is something you are happy to do.

Please consider whether you feel there is enough evidence already put in place before asking for your case to go ahead without an Education Psychologist report.

The amount of evidence presented can impact on the final decision of your child gaining an EHCP. Please call 03000 413666 to discuss it further with SEN and your case officer.

If you would to discuss this further with myself please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Newberry
