Welcome to Hedgehogs’ class page
Our class teacher is Mrs James and our teaching assistants are Ms Clark, Ms Graham and Ms Lewis
There are seven children in our class from year 1, 2 & 3.
The hedgehogs are a fun group of enthusiastic learners. We have a friendly welcoming classroom decorated with all our own art work from the topics we have been learning about.
Hedgehogs’ promise to be: kind & careful, listen & look when someone is talking.
We look after each other and each other’s things.
This term the Hedgehogs are going to be looking at seaside and habitat themes
Things to remember
PE kits – Please ensure your child has there P.E. kits on Monday morning.
EHCP diaries – Please review and sign weekly and return Monday.
Contact books – Please review and acknowledge comments daily.
We look forward to welcoming you into our class for our open afternoons.
We will also be fundraising this term and making beaded bracelets to sell, all donations of old beads gratefully received. Thank you.
In English we will:
Read themed books, sing songs and make up rhymes,
We will explore the sensory garden for natural resources and make our own mini-beasts
Make story stones for story sharing
Make a seaside punch and Judy show
We will make a rock pool diorama.
We will talk about our time at the beach and write postcards and post them home.
We will use writing frames to share parts of our stories.
We will make masks and role play, musical instruments to express ourselves.
We will make a sea side shop to buy and sell things so we can practice using money.
Visit Maidstone museum
Make a scarecrow for the Kent Garden Show.
In science we will be studying materials:
Hot and cold, colours, habitats and insects
In maths we will focus on;
Money, place value, addition, weight, shape, colours, and time
