Welcome to Tadpoles Class, part of the Early Years Foundation Stage at Meadowfield School.

Our Class teacher is Maria

Teaching assistants: Eni, Honor and Joanne

In Tadpoles we learn through a combination of Planned Play and Teacher Directed activities. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Development Matters documents which cover seven areas of learning which are as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
  • Communication and Language (CL)
  • Physical Development (PD)
  • Literacy (L)
  • Mathematics (M)
  • Understanding the World (UW)
  • Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

During the 1st Term we will be focus on the topic ‘All About Me’ and learning new routines.

For pupils to reach their full potential, a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning is used. Songs and rhymes, dance, ‘messy’ play, sensory stories, small world and role play activities all aid children to develop their skills within the seven areas of learning.

Children have the opportunity to explore and investigate a wide range of different learning materials and within different environments including the sensory garden and the outside learning areas.

  • Contact books will be send on Fridays and they need to be returned Mondays.
  • PE kits need (shorts, t-shirt and suitable footwear)
  • Could you also provide us with spare change of clothes and welly boots for the rainy days
