Ladybirds

Hello, I am Jessica, Ladybirds’ Class teacher.

Welcome to our class page, we are a mixed year one and two class.

The other adults to help us in our class are;

Sue - Teaching assistant

Lucy l- Teaching assistant

Vikki - Teaching assistant

Charissa - Student Teacher

*Please note that during terms one and two Charissa will be completing her teacher training in Ladybirds class and therefore will be doing the majority of teaching during this time whilst I will be carrying out other school roles outside of the classroom up until Christmas however as always I am always happy to meet with you/speak with you over the phone to discuss any queries you may have.

In Ladybirds class we always remember to do good listening and be kind to our friends. Ladybirds are an enthusiastic class who love learning new things. We have a very exciting couple of terms ahead.

Our overarching theme across terms one and two is ‘The World Around Us’ where we will be centring our learning around the topic of ‘Transport of Journeys’ in term one before moving onto ‘Celebrations and festivals’ during term two particularly in the lead up to Christmas.

Our topic stories this term will be June Crebbin’s ‘The Train Ride’ and ‘’Naughty Bus’ written by Jan Oke.

We will be using PECS and SCERTS symbols to support our speech and progress our comprehension skills in relation to these stories.

As always we will be exploring learning through a multi- sensory approach and building communication and learning further through lots of stories, group speaking and listening sessions as well as singing and signing.

Things to remember:

On Friday we have P.E. so please remember to send in P.E kits.
Each Friday EHCP diaries will be sent home, please return them each Monday.
We like to get messy in Ladybirds class, please feel free to back a change of clothes that you are happy to get dirty for your child to wear during messy play.
