Ladybirds

Hello and welcome to Ladybirds’ Class page, we are a mixed year 1 and 2 class.

Our Class teacher is Jessica

The other adults to help us in our class are;

Sue - Teaching assistant
Lucy - Teaching assistant
Vikki– Teaching assistant
Hannah- Teaching assistant

*Please note that during term 3 Jessica and Sue will be sharing the role of teacher.

In Ladybirds class we always remember to do good listening and be kind to our friends. Ladybirds are an enthusiastic class who love learning new things.

We have a very exciting couple of terms ahead;
Our overarching theme across terms three and four is ‘The Imaginary World’ where we will be centring our learning around the topic of Fairytales and Traditional Stories.

We will be exploring lots of fun fairytales and traditional stories over the next two terms including; Goldilocks and the three bears, The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. We will be using PECS and SCERTS symbols to support our speech and progress our comprehension skills in relation to these stories.
As always we will be exploring learning through a multi- sensory approach and building communication and learning further through lots of stories, group speaking and listening sessions as well as singing and signing.

Things to remember:

  • On Friday we have P.E. so please remember to send in P.E kits.
  • Each Friday EHCP diaries will be sent home, please return them each Monday.
  • We like to get messy in Ladybirds class, please feel free to bring a change of clothes that you are happy to get dirty for your child to wear during messy play.
  • We will be visiting the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury on Thursday 23rd January for a very exciting sensory performance ‘All Wrapped Up.’
