Welcome to Duckling Class, part of the Early Years Foundation Stage at Meadowfield School.

Our class Teacher is Georgia.

Teaching assistants: Holly, Jade and Emma.

Lunch assistant: Sheila

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Development Matters documents which cover seven areas of learning which are as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
  • Communication and Language (CL)
  • Physical Development (PD)
  • Literacy (L)
  • Mathematics (M)
  • Understanding the World (UW)

In Ducklings class, we learn through a combination of Planned play and Teacher directed activities, with constant use of our outside area. We are an energetic and determind class who love exploring in sensory media.

During term 2, we will be focusing on the topic 'Festivals and Celebrations', and we will be looking at the story 'Room on the broom' and 'Father Christmas needs a wee'. These stories will help us to begin to look at different celebrations, as well as talking about our favorite festivals.

In order for all the children to reach their full potential we continue to use a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning.

We hope you will begin to enjoy looking at all of the things that your children have been up to on Tapestry and we encourage you to comment and upload your own contributions.

Please have PE kits for a Wednesday.

Contact books will be sent home on a Friday, please return on a Monday!

As the weather is getting cooler and wetter, please could you provide your child with a spare change of clothes and welly boots!
