Tadpoles class currently has seven pupils and is a part of the Early Years Foundation Stage at Meadowfield School.

We learn through a combination of Planned Play and Teacher Directed activities. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Development Matters documents which cover seven areas of learning which are as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
  • Communication and Language (CL)
  • Physical Development (PD)
  • Literacy (L)
  • Mathematics (M)
  • Understanding the World (UW)
  • Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

Our Term 4 topic will be ‘The Imaginary World’ focusing on Traditional Tales.

For pupils to reach their full potential, a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning is used. Songs and rhymes, write dance, ‘messy’ play, sensory stories, small world and role play activities all aid children to develop their skills within the seven areas of learning.

Children have the opportunity to explore and investigate a wide range of different learning materials and within different environments including the sensory garden, sensory room, the library, adventure play, soft play and the outside learning areas.

We have PE every Monday and Hydro pool on Wednesdays.
